The objective of Sankhya's R&D is to evaluate new technologies and/or methodologies for adoption into the organization. R&D division shall explore, identify, scrutinize, and develop practices that result in more rapid, affordable, and sustained transition of innovative software technologies.

Sankhya's R&D team consisting of qualified Engineering Graduates,Post-Graduates and Doctorates from premier institutes focuses on evaluating new technologies and methodologies for the market. They work on the following areas:

• To develop products that provide breakthrough performance, at extremely affordable cost, environmentally progressive and enduring sustainability in the area of simulation and training technology.

• To provide an immersive training using synthetic equipment to get a real true-to-life experience, thereby reduce the use of expensive original equipment from accidents, damages and improve efficiency to develop and improve high quality skills in the workforce.

• To carry Training Technology research to constantly scan the technology trends and identify technologies that are relevant and required for the organization.

• To carry Process and Methodology research to constantly research on software engineering domain to adopt the best practices in the process and methodology that need to be adopted for better efficiencies and high productivity in the organization.

Sankhya has designed and developed a generic framework for Dynamic Content Delivery for eLearning and a research paper was submitted to Aviation Industry CBT Committee (AICC) in which Sankhya is a voting member for standards and guidelines for eLearning.

Sankhya has designed and developed VIRMOD® which is an application running platform for various types of training simulators to run. Driving, Aircraft maintenance trainer, Ship engine room, locomotive maintenance trainer, Fire fighting trainer, Weapon firing trainer are some of the many training modules which can run on a VIRMOD® setup.

Work has begun with premier research institutes in developing new protocols for rich eLearning content over the Internet. Sankhya's R&D team participated in various national and international seminars and workshops and presented research papers on eLearning and related technologies.

There are several other new R&D projects in the areas of training and simulation that are planned for next 3 to 4 years.
